Murder Still Under Investigation


The Bolivar County Sheriff's Department is still investigating a brutal murder that took place yesterday near Duncan in Northern Bolivar County.The victim has been identified as 32-year-old Quenton Deon McKay of Tunica County. According to Sheriff Kelvin Williams Sr., McKay was shot three times in the chest and twice in the head. Three suspects are currently in custody but haven't been charged yet. There is a warrant out for the arrest of Kevin Taylor for his alleged involvement in the murder. Taylor is a 35-year-old black male from Clarksdale standing six feet tall and weighing 165 pounds. Williams said his department is currently working in conjunction with officials in Tunica County and Coahoma County. The Mississippi Bureau of Investigations, the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics, and the U.S. Marshals are also involved. McKay's body was found at approximately 6:20 a.m. on Tuesday by a farmer.


National Signing Day Big Success For Bolivar County Students

Today was National Signing Day, and Bolivar County was well represented. Twenty-two high school seniors signed on to play football at the next level today.
