Teaching Others to Teach - continued

The modules include two components, an instructor section and a student section, both devised by Dr. Robinson. The elements cover the following specialized topics: Understanding Process Skills, Organizational Styles, Leadership Roles, Team Skills, Managing Conflict, Managing Change, Communication, Motivating Others, Overcoming Prejudice, and Managing Games People Play.

Participants said the process skills program has a wealth of educational material that is useful for community organizations because of its common theoretical base and practical educational approach.

Dr. Albert Nylander, Chair of DSU¹s Division of Social Sciences, said, ³Dr. Robinson continues to be a strong leader in developing community development literature that impacts thousands. We are pleased that he is one of the first professors in our division, as well as at DSU, to publish an educational program electronically. Dr. Robinson¹s commitment to Delta State and the Cleveland community is remarkable. We are fortunate to have such a distinguished leader at our institution.²

Robinson has sold nearly 200,000 copies of his modules. Recently they have been made available on CD.

The workshop was sponsored by the North Central Regional Center for Rural Development, which is based at Iowa State University. Teams of outreach and extension faculty who participated were from Iowa State, Ohio State, Michigan State, the University of Minnesota, the University of Missouri, the University of Nebraska, and North Dakota State.
