Governor-elect Haley Barbour announces inauguration details

On Monday, November 24, Governor-elect Haley Barbour announced details of the upcoming Inauguration including information on the Co-Chairs of the inaugural Committee, the Inaugural Theme, and the Inaugural Schedule.

"The goals of the Inauguration are to celebrate Mississippi and set the tone for the new administration," Barbour said. "The Inauguration will include events outside of Jackson so people from all over the state can participate. Marsha and I appreciate the enthusiasm and hard work of so many volunteers from all across Mississippi who are involved in the planning of the Inauguration."

Co-chairs for the Inaugural Committee are Griffin Norquist, Jr. of Yazoo City; Gloria Walker of Jackson; Stephanie Summers O'Neal of Jackson; and Maggi Lampton of Jackson. Members of the Inaugural Committee include more than 100 Mississippians from all across the state. The entire Inaugural Committee will be announced in the next few days.

The Inaugural Theme is "Mississippi's Moment". A website has been established to provide news and updated information about the Inauguration. The website is: www.MississippisMoment.com

"Nutcracker" performance at DSU
Moscow Ballet & Moscow Symphony presents "The Great Russian Nutcracker"
Tuesday, December 9 at 7:30 p.m.
Bologna Performing Arts Center

The Moscow Ballet's Great Russian Nutcracker consists of an all-Russian cast of 42 members featuring international ballet competition gold medalists. The company has been praised by the press for its novel Russian style and its embodiment of the classical traditions of Russian dance. The current Nutcracker production features broad heroic and assertive choreography, romanticism and passion which is consistent with the Russian technique. This style is from the Golden Age of Bolshoi and it differentiates the Moscow Ballet from other major international companies making it superlative and unique.
