Conferees approve transportation funding for Mississippi

Mid-Delta Regional Airport in Greenville and Greenwood-Leflore Airport to benefit

Senate and House conferees have approved the fiscal year 2004 Transportation, Treasury and General Government appropriations bill containing $39 million for transportation projects in Mississippi, according to Senator Thad Cochran (R-MS) who is a senior member of the Appropriations panel.

The ability to move goods and provide services throughout our state and promote economic growth requires a dependable transportation infrastructure," says Senator Cochran. "The funds in this bill will help build and improve Mississippi's highways, bridges, airports and rail systems.
