Renaissance
Pays Tribute to USA |
The
onset of spring brings warmer weather, short-sleeves, and the arrival
of Renaissance's annual spring concert. Renaissance, Delta State
University's singing and instrumental group performs throughout
the year. The group's next appearance is Monday, April 14th, at
7:30 p.m. at the Bologna Performing Arts Center on the DSU campus.
This year, Renaissance will add a personal touch to their spring
concert by performing a salute to the United States Armed Forces.
The ensemble will pay tribute to these brave men and women through
an arrangement of patriotic melodies. "We would really like
to encourage community involvement in our military tribute,"
said James Jackson, director of Renaissance. |

"All
military servicemen, active or retired are invited to participate
in our salute." The group will also be performing a variety
of top twenty hits from well known artists such as Shania Twain,
Christina Aguilera, and Michelle Branch.
Renaissance has also performed on several Caribbean cruises and
European tours in countries such as Mexico, England, Switzerland,
France, Austria, and Germany.
Admission will be $5 for adults and $3 for children under the age
of 12. DSU students, faculty, and staff members with ID will be
admitted free.
