Cleveland Police Department has
an Ace in the hole

The latest addition to the Cleveland Police Department is not much when it comes to words, but he more than makes up for it with action. Ace, a black Labrador Retriever, has been with the department just over one month, and serves as dual-purpose narcotics and tracking dog. Captain Buster Bingham, a fifteen year veteran of the department, says he is excited about Ace's potential and adds that he and Ace have already formed a good working relationship. Bingham says, "We are still in a warming up period, but Ace has already made one tracking apprehension since his arrival." Taught at the K-9 training academy in Texas, Ace is well studied and should prove to be a valuable asset to the department.

"Mummy Cat" found at
Delta Business Journal office

During the recent renovation of the Smith Building in downtown Cleveland, workers happened upon a grizzly discovery while replacing the hardwood flooring. Upon removing the boards they discovered the well-intact remains of a cat, which was latter dubbed "mummy cat." Apparently, the animal sought shelter under the building during its final hours, and was somehow preserved. Little is known about the origins of the animal or how long it had been entombed beneath the building. For more "Mummy Cat" photos click here!
